RCAF Tartan Kilt
The RCAF Tartan Kilt is a traditional Highland garment made for customers who want a tartan strongly associated with military heritage. The Royal Canadian Air Force tartan is recorded in the Scottish Register of Tartans, which notes it was designed in the early 1940s by Group Captain Elmer Fullerton, drawing from the Anderson tartan and the service’s colours, and later approved by the RCAF Air Council in May 1942.
Canada’s Department of National Defence also documents the tartan’s history, describing Fullerton’s original colour concept and the early woven sample produced in New Brunswick, supporting its longstanding association with RCAF identity and ceremonial use.
This kilt is configured around your selected waist size, optional fell and hip/seat measurements, and your preferred kilt length to help achieve a secure, comfortable fit. Choose a hardware finish that matches your styling, then build a complete outfit with optional accessories such as a sash, sporran and chain belt, belts and buckles, shirts, pins, brooches, and kilt hose. Optional upgrades like an 8-yard add-on and fly plaid are available, and a rush option can help for time-sensitive occasions.
